Data Collection on This Website

Who is responsible for data collection on this website?

Data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator. You can find the operator's contact details in the section "Information About the Responsible Party" below.

How do we collect your data?

Your data is collected when you provide it to us. This could, for example, be data that you enter into our support form.

Other data is collected automatically or with your consent when visiting the website by our IT systems. This is mainly technical data (e.g., Internet browser, operating system, or time of page access).

What do we use your data for?

Part of the data is collected to ensure the error-free provision of the website. Other data (such as your support inquiries) is processed to render support services and answer your requests.

What rights do you have regarding your data?

You have the right to receive information about the origin, recipient, and purpose of your stored personal data free of charge at any time. You also have the right to request rectification, restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), or erasure of this data, as well as data portability (Art. 20 GDPR). If you have granted consent, you can revoke it at any time. Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).

2 Hosting

We host the contents of our website with the following provider:

Google / Firebase Hosting

This website is hosted externally (Firebase Hosting). Personal data collected on this website is stored on the host's servers. This may primarily include IP addresses, contact requests, metadata, communication data, and other technical data.

Hosting takes place in the interest of a secure, fast, and efficient provision of our online offer by a professional provider (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Note on data transfer to third countries (USA): Google processes data, among other places, in the USA. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF); the transfer is based on the European Commission's adequacy decision of 10 July 2023 (Art. 45 GDPR). In addition, Google has agreed to the EU Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR), on which the transfer also relies should the adequacy decision cease to apply.

Data Processing Agreement (DPA)

We have concluded a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) for the use of the above service. This ensures that Google processes the personal data of our website visitors only in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.

Right to Restriction of Processing (Art. 18 GDPR) & Data Portability (Art. 20 GDPR)

You have the right to request the restriction of processing of your personal data (Art. 18 GDPR). In addition, you have the right to receive data that we process automatically based on your consent or in fulfillment of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format (Art. 20 GDPR).

Storage Duration

Unless a specific storage period has been specified in this privacy policy, your personal data will remain with us until the purpose for processing no longer applies (e.g. after your support inquiry has been resolved). If you assert a legitimate request for erasure or revoke consent, your data will be deleted unless statutory retention periods apply.

Right to Object to Data Collection (Art. 21 GDPR)

IF DATA PROCESSING IS BASED ON ART. 6(1)(E) OR (F) GDPR, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT AT ANY TIME TO OBJECT TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA FOR REASONS ARISING FROM YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION. IF YOU OBJECT, WE WILL NO LONGER PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA UNLESS WE CAN DEMONSTRATE COMPELLING LEGITIMATE GROUNDS FOR PROCESSING (OBJECTION ACCORDING TO ART. 21(1) GDPR).

Storing Information on Your Device (Section 25 TDDDG)

Merely opening this website sets no cookies and stores or reads no other information on your device. No content is loaded from third-party servers either — fonts, images, stylesheets and scripts are served exclusively from our own server. For this reason, no consent banner is required in order to view the site.

Only when you submit the support form is information stored on or read from your device: a sign-in token from Firebase Authentication as well as technical identifiers from Google reCAPTCHA and Firebase App Check. This storage and access take place without your consent pursuant to Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG (the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act), because they are strictly necessary for us to provide the service you have expressly requested — the transmission and abuse-protected delivery of your support request. The subsequent processing of the personal data collected in this context is governed by the legal bases set out in Section 5.

Local Storage of Web Fonts (Local Fonts)

This website uses fonts for consistent representation. These fonts are installed locally on our own server and integrated. A connection to servers of third parties (such as Google Fonts) does not take place. No data is transferred to third parties.

SSL / TLS Encryption

This site uses SSL or TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the browser's address line changing from "http://" to "https://".

4 Data Collection on This Website

Server Log Files

The provider of the pages (Google Firebase) automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These include browser type/version, operating system, referrer URL, hostname, and time of request. This data is not merged with other data sources. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Support / Contact Form

If you contact us via the support form on the website, your details from the form, including the contact details provided there (Support ID from the app, and optionally name / email address) as well as your message, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the request and in case of follow-up questions.

Processing of this data takes place on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, provided your request is related to the fulfillment of a contract. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective handling of requests sent to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Data remains in our database until you request deletion or the purpose ceases to apply.

Enquiries by Email or Telephone

If you contact us by email (service@aaronwst.de) or by telephone — for example using the contact details published in our imprint or in our security.txt — your enquiry and all personal data resulting from it (name, email address, telephone number, content of the enquiry) will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request. We do not pass this data on without your consent.

Processing takes place on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary in order to take pre-contractual steps. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in effectively handling the enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) where this has been requested; any consent granted may be revoked at any time. Your data remains with us until you request erasure, revoke your consent, or the purpose for storing it ceases to apply; mandatory statutory retention periods remain unaffected.

Please note that sending unencrypted email over the internet involves security risks. For confidential content, please use the support form or contact us to agree on an alternative transmission channel.

Communication via WhatsApp

We offer you the opportunity to contact us via WhatsApp. The provider is WhatsApp Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland.

When you click the WhatsApp button or write to us, your phone number and message contents are transmitted to Meta Platforms servers. Please note that WhatsApp may store data (e.g. metadata) on servers in the USA. Use of WhatsApp is voluntary based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) or for contract initiation (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

5 Plugins and Databases

Google reCAPTCHA v3

We use "Google reCAPTCHA" on this website. Provider is Google Ireland Limited. reCAPTCHA is intended to verify whether data entry in our support form is made by a human or by an automated program (bot).

For this purpose, reCAPTCHA analyzes visitor behavior invisibly in the background based on various characteristics (e.g., IP address, duration of stay, or mouse movements). Data is forwarded to Google.

Storage and analysis of data take place on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its web offerings from abusive automated spying and SPAM. reCAPTCHA is only loaded when the form is submitted; the associated access to your device is based on Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG (see Section 3).

Data transfer to third countries (USA): Google also processes the data collected via reCAPTCHA in the USA.

Further information on data processing by Google can be found in Google's Privacy Policy and in Google's Terms of Service.

Firebase Firestore, Authentication & App Check

For the support ticket system, we use the real-time database Firebase Firestore provided by Google Ireland Limited. When you submit a message, your data is saved in this cloud database so we can review and reply to it via the Idees app.

Only when you submit the support form does your browser load the Firebase components required for it from Google (www.gstatic.com) and additionally sign in anonymously to Firebase Authentication. As long as you are merely viewing the form, none of this is loaded and nothing is transmitted to Google. A random identifier (anonymous User ID) is generated and stored at Google; Google processes technical connection data such as your IP address in this context. No account and no credentials are created, and the ID cannot be linked to your identity. It serves exclusively to protect our database from automated abuse and spam. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Additionally, we use the security tool Firebase App Check. Together with reCAPTCHA, it verifies in the background that requests to our database originate exclusively from our authentic website to secure our infrastructure.

Storage location and third-country transfers: The Firestore database in which your support request is stored is operated in the region europe-west1 (St. Ghislain, Belgium) and therefore within the European Union. For the accompanying services Firebase Authentication, Firebase App Check and reCAPTCHA, processing of technical connection data (in particular your IP address) in the USA cannot be ruled out. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF); the transfer is based on the European Commission's adequacy decision of 10 July 2023 (Art. 45 GDPR) and, in addition, on the EU Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). Details can be found in Google's Privacy Policy.

Access to information on your device (Section 25 TDDDG): Storing the sign-in token and the reCAPTCHA identifiers on your device is strictly necessary within the meaning of Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG and therefore does not require separate consent — see "Storing Information on Your Device" in Section 3.
